Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered

The things educators and centre leaders ask most. Can't see yours? Ask Louis directly — no pitch.

What is The Confident Educator?

It's Praxibel's flagship program — a practical, six-module professional development series that builds the everyday skills, cultural confidence and communication early childhood educators need to work directly with children. It's delivered as a live three-hour workshop. See the full program →

Who is it for?

Two groups: centre directors and leaders who want practical PD for their whole team, and new or internationally trained educators who want the confidence and communication skills to thrive in Australian ECEC. Because different does not mean deficient.

How much does it cost?

For your whole team there are two options: a 1.5-hour staff meeting session covering one module in depth for $449 (in person, metro Melbourne), or the full three-hour workshop covering all six modules for $849 (in your centre or online). Individual educators can register interest in a public Melbourne workshop. Custom Training is priced per project. The self-paced online course will be $129 per educator when it launches.

How long is a workshop, and when does it run?

The full workshop is three hours — a morning or an afternoon, whichever suits your team. There's also a 1.5-hour staff meeting session that covers a single module in depth, designed to fit an after-hours staff meeting. You choose the timing when you book.

Do you come to our centre, or is it online?

Either, for the full three-hour workshop — Louis facilitates live in your centre or fully online, and it's the same practical program either way. The 1.5-hour staff meeting session is in person only (metro Melbourne; a travel fee applies beyond about 40km from the CBD). Book a session for your centre →

Is it aligned to the frameworks we're assessed against?

Yes — The Confident Educator maps to the National Quality Standard (Quality Areas 1, 3, 5 & 6), EYLF v2.0 and the APST, and may contribute to registered teachers' self-recorded PD hours.

Can I join without bringing my whole team?

Yes. Louis runs public workshops in Melbourne for individual educators whenever there's enough interest — close to the CBD and public transport. Register your interest and he'll email you as soon as a date is set. Register your interest →

Can Louis build something specific for our centre?

Yes. If your team has a particular challenge — behaviour, transitions, family communication, team culture — Louis will design custom training around that exact issue. Tell him about your challenge →

What is Beyond the Playground?

A three-hour, hands-on extension of The Confident Educator's outdoor module — turning the yard, the garden and the world past the fence into a deliberate learning space. It's in development. Register your interest →

Is there a self-paced online course?

It's coming in late 2026 — the full six-module program as interactive video modules you can learn at your own pace. Join the waitlist →
