What we cover · Communicating with families

From "he had a good day" to something a parent remembers.

At pick-up, a parent asks how the day went and hears "good, thanks". A parent asks why their child was bitten again and the educator goes to find you. Families don't need faultless — they need to know somebody was paying attention. This session gives your team the words.

What your educators do differently

01

Swap the general for the specific

"He spent almost twenty minutes building a massive — his word — tower with Fred." Same day, completely different parent walking out.

02

Lead with what you did

When something's gone wrong: what you saw, what you did, what you're watching for. Parents don't need you to be faultless.

03

Buy time honestly

"That's a fair question and I want to give you a proper answer, not a rushed one. Can I find you tomorrow at drop-off?" Professional, not a dodge.

What the session looks like

The role-plays

Educators pair up as parent and educator with real children's names — first the two-minute pick-up, then the bitten-again conversation. Then the harder one: the parent who's already angry. Every educator leaves with one specific thing to tell each of their families that week.

The sentence they leave with: "Here's what I saw, here's what we did, and here's what we're watching for tomorrow."

Not another PowerPoint.

Are you and your team tired of the slide deck and the online click-fest? Louis's sessions are practical, on your feet and genuinely fun. You'll role-play the moments that actually happen in your rooms — the parent at pick-up, the child who hits, the drizzle at the door — and leave with language you'll use tomorrow.

Educators remember what they've said out loud, not what they've watched.
